Martina Melliand (2014-15)

Martina Melliand is serving as the 2014-2015 DHS Fellow at RAND. Martina comes to RAND from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement where she has served for seven years and most recently in a Chief of Staff capacity to the Deputy Assistant Director for the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Investigative Services Division – the largest division in the agency. Throughout her career, she managed high level projects, developed intra- and interagency policies, and conducted specialized trainings to hundreds of HSI Special Agents. Her areas of interest include border security, immigration enforcement, and international cooperation efforts to further homeland security. Martina graduated cum laude with a Master’s Degree in Global Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University where she focused her thesis on non-immigrant visas and national security.
