RAND Expert to Address China's Pursuit of Artificial Intelligence, New Materials and New Energy
Richard Silberglitt, a senior physical scientist at the RAND Corporation, will testify before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on “New and Critical Materials: Identifying Potential Dual-Use Areas.”
Silberglitt will discuss:
- information about new materials, focusing on nanomaterials and metamaterials, their commercial applications and the potential for emerging dual-use applications
- China's current capabilities in metamaterials compared with those of the United States
- recent collaborations between the United States and China on materials research
- China's continuing domination of the production and processing of critical materials.
