Reviews the methodology and tools developed by the Measuring Impact of Stabilization Initiative to assess the impact of United States Agency for International Development stabilization-focused programming in Afghanistan.
This report is an audit of the then-current Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) mathematics program, which was built around the 2009 standards. This report was done in preparation for the transition to the Common Core State Standards, which began in 2014–2015. The report finds variation in how current DoDEA mathematics program reflect best practices. DoDEA has challenges to overcome in implementing CCRS mathematics standards.
In a multimethod analysis, RAND researchers assess whether the military should continue using its 40-year pay table, implemented in 2007, to retain the most-experienced officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel, as well as more-junior personnel aspiring to higher ranks. Alternatively, could such retention be equally achieved by reverting to a 30-year pay table, and how much special and incentive pay would be required?

This report examines admission standards at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and officer outcomes to evaluate whether the USAFA admissions formula should be adjusted. USAFA admissions are partly determined based on scores calculated as a weighted combination of three elements: academic composite, leadership composite, and selection panel score. The data included records on the nearly 35,000 cadets who attended USAFA from 1980 to 2011.
RAND researchers assess the ability of the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs to support the Afghan Local Police program; evaluate the range of logistics, personnel management, and training activities essential to the success of the program's local security mission; and identify lessons from support to the program that might prove useful when undertaking similar efforts to help build local security forces in the future.

The analysis includes 11 natural hazards and five infrastructure sectors.
