PAF annual reports highlight key research, examine national and international security issues, list recent publications, and introduce you to the people of Project AIR FORCE.

Since 2012, PAF has largely dispensed with the Annual Report format. For all of PAF's most recent work, see the list of current publications.

Project AIR FORCE research that has had a significant cost-saving effect on the operations of the U.S. military is included in RAND's Saving the Government Money report.

    China's Military Activities in the East China Sea

    China has stepped up its vessel and air activities near the disputed Senkaku Islands. Japan has made posture changes and increased the quantity of aircraft and radar in the region, but it does not have the resources to match Chinese air activity. And since it's an issue of domestic air sovereignty, the U.S. is limited in what it can do to assist Japan.
