Futures Links

As part of our ongoing effort to provide information on Futures research, this section of the site includes Internet links to important people and organizations doing such research, the methodologies they follow, the studies they have crafted, and ongoing projects and programs.

Futures Organizations

This is a sampling of organizations that are associated with the global future. The primary distinguishing characteristic of these organizations is that they are focused on the global future rather than a more narrow future. If you have candidates for either category below, please contact Robert Lempert.

People

The best set of links to futures people is at KurzweilAI.net. A wide variety of futures people can be found there along with brief biographies and links to some of their important works. The links below are to people with whom the Pardee Center has had some contact and who have individual web pages. In time, this list will expand. Methodologies

There are numerous methodologies aimed at helping think about the longer-range future. It is part of the mission of the RAND Pardee Center to collect those methodologies and develop a framework into which to put them. In time, this page will reflect that collection and framework. For now, it is a start on the collection of methodologies that are available on the web. If you have candidates for either category below, please contact Robert Lempert.

Studies

The number of studies about the future is staggering. The aspect of greatest initial interest to the Pardee Center is studies about how to think about the future - the type of thing normally found in journals. Below is a list of known web journals related to global futures and some other studies of interest. This page will expand and morph as the literature on future studies is absorbed. If you have candidates for either category below, please contact Robert Lempert.
