Armament Technician Hector Huguet checks an advanced medium-range air-to-air missile, or AMRAAM, on an F-16CJ fighting falcon before it takes off from Incirlik Air Base in Turkey on Dec. 28, 1998, as part of Operation Northern Watch. The operation enforces the no-fly zone north of the 36th parallel in Iraq, as mandated by the United Nations. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Turkey have provided about 45 aircraft and more than 1,400 personnel to support the operation.
