Social and Economic Policy Advisory Board
The Social and Economic Policy Advisory Board provides critical strategic guidance and generous philanthropic support to meet the objectives of social and economic policy research and analysis at RAND. Our social and economic policy research works to actively improve the safety, social, and economic well-being of populations and communities both in the U.S. and globally.
Our aim is to produce high-quality and consumable research and analysis that addresses critical factors necessary to promote safety and social and economic well-being, and to support decisionmakers and policy influencers in using the best and most practical approaches to solve social and economic problems.
The board is composed of individuals and public policy and private sector leaders who help guide and support RAND research in the social and economic policy area, including areas that were previously part of the Justice, Infrastructure and Environment Advisory Board (justice policy, infrastructure, environment, and science and technology), and other areas relevant to social and economic policy research such as the well-being of populations and communities (including child well-being and aging), economic development and the role of public-private partnerships, demography and migration, and workforce development.
Members of RAND Advisory Boards enrich RAND by adding their diverse perspectives and expertise to our efforts to improve public policy. Our Advisory Boards include leaders in the public and private sectors who have demonstrated personal distinction, practical experience, leadership, and a commitment to transcending partisan conflicts and political ideologies. Their balanced input helps RAND achieve its mission to help improve policy and decision-making through research and analysis.
Nomination for membership to the Social and Economic Policy Advisory Board is highly selective, and members offer intellectual contributions, participate in outreach efforts, and make financial contributions.
