Overview

Biography

As editor-in-chief of RAND Review, the flagship magazine of the RAND Corporation, Godges synthesizes “the best of RAND” for a worldwide audience. RAND Review reports three times a year on RAND research of interest to the U.S. Congress, military commanders, foreign ministers, ambassadors, university presidents, foundation presidents, health care administrators, educators, government officials, corporate executives, law firm partners, researchers, libraries, the media, and the general public.

In 2011, Godges co-edited The Long Shadow of 9/11: America's Response to Terrorism, a RAND-wide effort to commemorate the tenth Anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The essays in this volume assess the military, political, fiscal, social, cultural, psychological, and even moral implications of U.S. policymaking since 9/11.

In 2005 and 2006, Godges spearheaded the editing and production of Unconquerable Nation: Knowing Our Enemy, Strengthening Ourselves, a RAND bestseller marking the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. In prior work at RAND, he served as the communications analyst for Project AIR Force.

Before joining RAND in 1997, Godges was the communications and research manager for a nonprofit drug prevention agency, where he edited multilingual publications for immigrant communities working to prevent substance abuse.
