A study of the efficient use of transportation systems with an emphasis on the effects of traffic congestion. This is part of a broader investigation to determine how the average waiting time and the extent of fluctuation in individual waiting times depend on the opportunities for servicing and on the amount and irregularity of the inflow of claimants for service.
