Neil Robinson
Overview
Biography
Neil Robinson is a research leader at RAND Europe. He conducts research in areas such as cybersecurity, privacy, and the socioeconomic implications of the Information Society. He is presently leading a comparative analysis of the legal frameworks surrounding identity theft for the European Commission and recently completed a study about the choices individuals face and the trade-offs they make vis-à-vis security and privacy. In addition, he is research coordinator for the Information Assurance Advisory Council, the leading UK public–private partnership in the area of information and network security. Robinson has studied network security and resilience for the UK Ministry of Defence and recently advised the Office of Cyber Security on the UK's National Cyber Security Strategy. He has also conducted research for the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory and the European Network Information Security Agency. Robinson received his B.A. in war studies and history from King's College London and his M.Sc. in information systems and technology from City University London, where he studied the physical and logical vulnerability of fibre optic Metropolitan Area Networks.
