The RAND Europe Good Health, Good Work Hub brings together employers, policymakers, funders and researchers to turn evidence-based insights into action and improve health, safety and wellbeing at work.
Our mission
RAND is the research partner of choice for those working to make the world a better place, and the health, safety and wellbeing domain is no exception. We aim to build the evidence base to help decision-makers drive positive change for workers, leaders, consumers, researchers and wider society.
Good Health, Good Work is a community where relationships and alliances between people and organisations with common goals for health, safety and wellbeing can be formed and maintained.
Our focus
Evidence-based insights that enable better health, safety and wellbeing related decision-making and policy
RAND Europe produces a wide range of research insights relating to the creation of healthy societies and workplaces that are both safe and well.
Good Health, Good Work is working to advance policy in three priority areas:
- UK economic inactivity and the implementation of the Keep Britain Working Review
- Wellbeing-related productivity, including better measuring and managing presenteeism
- Evidence-driven approaches to occupational safety and health standards and practices
In addition, we support organisations seeking to shape workplace health, safety and wellbeing practice by strengthening their thought leadership with rigorous evidence, deeper insight from data and trusted convening partnerships.
How it works
Good Health, Good Work brings together RAND Europe’s research, convening power and communications channels to connect evidence with real-world decision-making on workplace health, safety and wellbeing. Through a year-round programme of roundtables, conference sessions and online discussions, we create space for employers, policymakers, funders and expert voices to engage with the most important challenges shaping healthier, safer and more productive working lives.
Between events, we sustain the conversation through concise briefing notes, podcast episodes, commentary on major policy reviews and accessible summaries of relevant RAND research. This creates a continuous cycle of evidence, dialogue and dissemination, helping organisations respond to emerging issues, learn from one another and identify where stronger evidence, collaboration or evaluation is needed.
Good Health, Good Work is designed not only to share insights, but to build an active community around them - one that can support better decisions today and, over time, generate new partnerships, commissioned research and collaborative action on shared priorities.

Health & Wellbeing at Work 2026
- RAND Europe contributed to IOSH-led discussions on the relationship between meaningful work, health and wellbeing, and occupational safety, with Ben Moss joining a panel that explored how meaningfulness is created at work and how organisations can better support line managers and employees.
- RAND Europe also contributed through a presentation on “Uncovering True Presenteeism,” which drew on RAND Europe’s work with Vitality on Britain’s Healthiest Workplace and other research to show how data-led approaches can improve how presenteeism is measured and managed.
Health & Safety event 2026
- Dr. Christopher Davis and Ben Moss joined sector experts to discuss what it takes to make truly evidence-informed safety decisions, highlighting the importance of stronger collaboration across the occupational safety and health evidence ecosystem, better translation of research into practice, and critical thinking among practitioners.
Lloyd's Register Foundation: Roundtable discussion
- RAND Europe was represented by Ben Moss and Madeline Nightingale at a Lloyd’s Register Foundation and IOSH roundtable on occupational safety and health in the informal economy, which drew on a recent RAND Europe report for IOSH and explored how governments, health and safety professionals and researchers can better protect informal workers globally.
- At Health & Wellbeing at Work 2026, RAND Europe contributed to IOSH-led discussions on the relationship between meaningful work, health and wellbeing, and occupational safety, with Ben Moss joining a panel that explored how meaningfulness is created at work and how organisations can better support line managers and employees.
