Founded in 2017

NewsCheck is a web-based platform that performs credibility scoring using a combination of machine technology (blockchain) and humans to fight fake news. They have a system for managing and delivering content that is deemed trustworthy to consumers. Part of the NewsCheck Platform is the NewsCheck Truck Index, a set of journalistic standards, that is then used to transparently verify news information. This tool also identifies bias. NewsCheck also offers a university pilot that allows journalism and data science students to use the platform for free as experiential learning.

NewsCheck Trust Index is not affiliated with RAND. It was selected for this database because it fits our researchers' inclusion criteria.
