Artwork submitted to the Art from Your Heart nationwide art competition for youth to share their experience of COVID-19. This drawing depicts the interface of an online meeting, with various participants waiting to join the meeting.

Artist's Statement

My art piece is dedicated to showing how I feel left out of my community. Because of COVID and even before I was never included in my community. My art piece is built upon a hypothetical situation. I have a two-sided drawing; one side is what I see and the other side is what the community sees. Because we are in 'quarantine' we use video chat services like zoom and teams. With that being said I took the opportunity to make the screen that you would see if you were waiting to join the meeting, which is my point of view because I am being left out of the equation. Whereas the rest of the community would see the actual zoom meeting.
