Hiwot Demelash is a policy analyst at RAND. She is passionate about strategy and great power competition, in congruence with emerging technology (advanced AI).
Her research largely covers (1) the geopolitics of AI (strategic, stability, and military implications; impact on decisionmaking, relative power, and society), (2) military AI integration and adoption, and (3) wargaming and table-top exercise development, to test, strengthen, and generate innovative strategies and policy recommendations.
She is dedicated to conducting objective research and analysis with rigorous methodology, causality, and pragmatic applications.
Demelash holds a M.A. in politics and policy, as well as a B.A. in international relations, and health, medicine and society from Lehigh University.
