Lindsey Kozberg Appointed RAND Vice President for External Affairs

Lindsey Kozberg has been appointed vice president for external affairs at the RAND Corporation, a nonprofit research organization, RAND President and CEO James A. Thomson announced today.
Kozberg served as director of public affairs for the U.S. Department of Education in 2001 and 2002, and went on to serve as a special assistant to President Bush and director of public and policy affairs of the White House USA Freedom Corps initiative.
Both before and after her service in the federal government, Kozberg was an attorney with Latham & Watkins LLP of Los Angeles.
Most recently, Kozberg served as a vice president for development for Rothbart Development, a regional shopping center developer in Los Angeles.
Kozberg is based at RAND headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif. The Office of External Affairs oversees philanthropic contributions, media relations, congressional relations, community relations, the Web site, and corporate publications at RAND.
“Lindsey has had experience in the nonprofit world, the private sector and government, and will help RAND improve our efforts to reach external audiences,” Thomson said.
Kozberg holds a bachelor's degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and a law degree from Stanford University.
