Jeffrey Hiday Appointed Director of Media Relations

Jeffrey Hiday, a veteran public relations executive and news reporter, has joined the RAND Corporation as director of media relations, RAND President and CEO James A. Thomson announced today.

"Jeffrey Hiday's broad experience in the news media and institutional communications will be an asset to our efforts to reach out to the national and international news media," Thomson said.

Hiday will be based at RAND's Washington office, and will direct staff in both RAND's Santa Monica headquarters and in Washington. RAND is a nonprofit research organization.

Hiday previously was the director general for external relations for the Asian Development Bank in Manila from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, he was the head of media relations for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.

He also was a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal in London, covering the European financial services industry, and Dow Jones Newswires in London and New York, covering banking and the bond market. He began his career at the Providence Journal in Rhode Island.
