Muharrem Mane is a Senior Engineer at the RAND Corporation. His research centers on the development and application of decision-support tools and methods that enable the analysis and design of complex families of systems, with emphasis on technology evaluation, architecture design, and performance metrics generation. His background includes Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO), Operations Research (OR) techniques, Network Analysis, and Modeling and Simulation to study the interactions, interdependencies, capabilities, and design requirements of these complex systems.

Mane divides his time on projects in the Arroyo Center, Project Air Force, and the National Security Research Division and was the Project AIR FORCE Field Analyst at Air Combat Command (2015-2017). His recent work has focused on the evaluation of commercial Adversary Air for the US Air Force enterprise, the assessment of the USAF readiness and readiness improvement options, the evaluation of hypersonic weapon designs, and the operational analysis of hypersonic weapons.

Prior to joining RAND, Mane spent three years as a Research Scientist in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University where he contributed to the creation and was Chief Scientist of the Center for Integrated Systems in Aerospace. Mane received his doctorate degree in Aerospace Systems from Purdue University in 2008, and holds an MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics and an MS in Civil Engineering, both from Purdue University.
