Tarun Reddy Talakanti is an M.Phil. student at the RAND School of Public Policy and an assistant policy researcher at RAND. His research interests include labor economics, education policy, and energy policy, with a keen interest in AI labor economics and AI energy markets.
Prior to joining RAND, He was a research assistant at USC Marshall School of Business, where he deployed python scripts and built financial models to understand the lifecycle of sustainability certifications. He also conducted literature reviews, data collection, and data cleaning to support research on entrepreneurship in biofuel companies. In addition, he coauthored a research paper on machine learning applications in the agricultural field and worked as an apprentice at a hospital to build a simulation model to optimize patient transportation systems.
Talakanti holds an M.S. in analytics from USC and a B.Tech. in computer science and engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
