Irene van Droffelaar is a senior analyst at RAND Europe in the Data Science Lab, working across research areas. She specializes in quantitative modelling, research and analysis. She is well-versed in simulation and modelling techniques, including Discrete Event Simulation, Agent-Based Simulation, System Dynamics, and Linear Programming, as well as analysis techniques, including Robust Decision Making and Exploratory Modelling.

Droffelaar holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in policy analysis from Delft University of Technology and a B.Sc. in (materials) chemistry from the University of Groningen. For her Ph.D., she developed and evaluated computational methods for decision support to the Dutch national police, as part of the National Police AI Lab.
