Sabrina Verdecanna is an M.Phil. student at the RAND School of Public Policy and an assistant policy researcher at RAND. Her research interests include drug policy, mental healthcare quality and program evaluation, substance use disorders, artificial intelligence, and veteran healthcare. She earned a B.S. in integrative neurosciences from Binghamton University.
Formerly a senior research assistant at a short-term inpatient substance addiction rehabilitation facility, she administered to patients a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Assessment collecting standardized data on AUD/SUD metrics and related domains. Her research served to track patient progress, inform clinical treatment plans, and contribute to the addiction treatment field via interdisciplinary collaboration. Her prior publications investigated sobriety identity, clinically modifiable correlates of length of stay to target early dropout, and she additionally aided in the development of a novel protocol for calculating genetic family history of addiction density scores. She is skilled in R, Stata, and REDCap survey development.
