RAND Corporation Appoints Nicholas Burger Director of RAND Washington Office

Economist Nicholas Burger has been appointed director of the Washington office of the nonprofit, nonpartisan RAND Corporation, RAND President and CEO Michael D. Rich announced today.
“RAND's Washington office continues to grow, and I'm eager to support our staff's contributions to RAND's mission and impact, including our efforts to innovate our work space and provide a flexible, supportive environment,” Burger said.
Burger is a senior economist, associate director of RAND Labor and Population program and director of the RAND Center for Research and Policy in International Development. His research focuses on environmental economics and international development, including energy and climate change. Burger earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Headquartered in Santa Monica, RAND employs about 420 people at its offices in Pentagon City.
