Documentation in a question and answer format of the Vietnam conflict as it has been reported in Rand's study of Viet Cong motivation and morale. This extraction and synthesis of material presented in RM's reporting the various aspects of the conflict include documentation on (1) the background of the Rand interview series and material available at Rand; (2) South Vietnamese ethnic groups; (3) organization of the Viet Cong; (4) pacification; (5) Chieu Hoi; (6) strategic hamlets; (7) bombing North Vietnam; (8) psychological warfare. A glossary and annotated bibliography of Rand publications on Viet Cong motivation and morale are appended.
