This toolkit presents pathways to support the regulation of age-restricted sales in six areas: alcohol, fireworks, gambling, knives, sunbeds and tobacco. It was developed by regulators for regulators, drawing on input from 85 local authority regulatory services and trading standards officers from 63 local authorities in England and Wales. Consequently, it takes a practical approach. It illustrates how day-to-day activities contribute to a wide range of impacts and outcomes for local communities, assisting their evaluation.
