This document provides a brief tutorial on using the twangContinous package to estimate causal effects for continuous exposure variables using generalized propensity scores (GPSs) estimated via generalized boosted models (GBMs). Investigators often find themselves interested in examining the causal effect of a continuous exposure on an outcome. For example, it may be of interest to estimate the causal effect of trauma symptoms on substance use frequency among individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) or it might be of interest to understand the impact of income on measures of well-being. This package was designed to help investigators address such questions using state-of-the-art causal inference methods.
