Presents baseline (1974) sources and data necessary to construct an index of the cost of producing housing services in St. Joseph County, Indiana, Site II of the Housing Assistance Supply Experiment (HASE). Some background on index numbers is given, and the method of constructing a regional index is described. How HASE uses the cost index affects its construction and content. Sources are documented, and the baseline data that will be needed to construct either a Laspeyres or a Paasche index are presented by index component.
