As part of the Housing Assistance Supply Experiment (HASE), the final (wave 4) household survey (officially called the survey of tenants and homeowners) was conducted in St. Joseph County, Indiana (Site II of the experiment), from February through August 1978. The codebook reproduces each question in the survey instrument and specifies every permissible response. Each question is accompanied by a tabulation of responses recorded in the preliminary master file, which contains 3,691 records. Eleven accounting variables are also included.
