As part of the Housing Assistance Supply Experiment (HASE), the first (baseline) survey of landlords was conducted in Brown County, Wisconsin (Site I of the experiment), from December 1973 through March 1974. This codebook describes a set of variables derived from the original survey variables. For each derived variable, the codebook details the construction, specifies all permissible responses, and provides a tabulation of the unweighted responses recorded in the final master file, which contains 1,318 records.
