As part of the Housing Assistance Supply Experiment (HASE), the third (wave 3) survey of residential buildings was conducted in St. Joseph County, Indiana (Site II of the experiment), from September through November 1977. This codebook describes a set of variables derived from the original survey variables. For each derived variable, the codebook details the construction, specifies all permissible responses, and provides a tabulation of the unweighted responses recorded in the final master file, which contains only 172 records (the wave 3 sample was designed merely to supplement the data gathered at baseline).
