This Note is a manual for the computer system provided to selected participants in a RAND research project investigating how people plan for and adapt to the shift from employment to retirement and how they may use various communications media in this transition. The manual first describes how a participant might use the computer during the course of a day. Short lessons on using the computer follow. The manual gives greatest emphasis to electronic communications (adapted from RAND's electronic mail-handling system) and text processing (using esp).
This publication is part of the RAND note series. The note was a product of RAND from 1979 to 1993 that reported miscellaneous outputs of sponsored research for general distribution.
