A discussion of the RAND Graduate Student Program, which offers a partial solution to problems of hiring new and untrained personnel. The idea is to interest qualified graduate students in full-time employment after graduation, and to allow RAND to observe the capabilities of the candidate firsthand before offering him permanent employment. The author feels that the program has already been proven worthwhile, especially to the Cost Analysis Department.
