A favorable review of Planets and Satellites, edited by G. P. Kuiper and Barbara M. Middlehurst (University of Chicago Press, 1961). The subjects treated in the book range from the appearance of the earth, as seen from an observation post in space, to the appearance of the moon and other planets. It also contains some highly theoretical papers on the dynamics of the solar system, orbital theory, and the interior of planets. 2 pp.
This publication is part of the RAND paper series. The paper series was a product of RAND from 1948 to 2003 that captured speeches, memorials, and derivative research, usually prepared on authors' own time and meant to be the scholarly or scientific contribution of individual authors to their professional fields. Papers were less formal than reports and did not require rigorous peer review.
