A partial summary and translation of an article by Leonid Velichanskii in the Literaturnaia Gazeta, May 14, 1963. It attacks the more important Russian study groups in the U.S., such as the Russian Institute at Columbia, the Ford Foundation, the Hoover Institute, and the Rand Corporation. It laments what it considers the degradation of modern bourgeois science, its fabrication of the political ammunition for the cold war, and the technical and ideological preparation for a hot war.
This report is part of the RAND Corporation Paper series. The paper was a product of the RAND Corporation from 1948 to 2003 that captured speeches, memorials, and derivative research, usually prepared on authors' own time and meant to be the scholarly or scientific contribution of individual authors to their professional fields. Papers were less formal than reports and did not require rigorous peer review.
