A review of The Communist Foreign Trade System, by Frederick L. Pryor (Cambridge, Mass., 1963). Special attention is given to Pryor's discussion of multilateralism in European Soviet Bloc trade and of the theoretical inadequacies of Bloc interpretations of foreign trade problems. Although Pryor is less critical of Communist trade policies than many other Western observers, the reviewer concludes that this is an indispensable volume.
