An analysis of the effect of large random phase errors on the antenna pattern of a focused synthetic linear array. Statistical features of the gain pattern, such as the moments and probability distribution, are derived analytically for certain special cases but with no restriction on the size of the phase error, so that the results obtained can be used as a partial substitution and guide for the Monte Carlo technique.
