Three independent counts of the Coma cluster of galaxies are intercompared. The three different surveys appear to be consistent with each other. It is concluded that this cluster contains some 800 members to photovisual magnitude about 18.5 and is about 100 minutes in radius. A possible spatial density distribution of the galaxies in this cluster is derived from the combined data.
This publication is part of the RAND paper series. The paper series was a product of RAND from 1948 to 2003 that captured speeches, memorials, and derivative research, usually prepared on authors' own time and meant to be the scholarly or scientific contribution of individual authors to their professional fields. Papers were less formal than reports and did not require rigorous peer review.
