A study of square matrices (previously investigated by Perron, Frobenius, and Wielandt) in connection with the theory of resource allocation. This report demonstrates, in addition to other proofs, the basic properties of nonnegative indecomposable matrices and derives general nonnegative square matrices.

This report is part of the RAND Corporation paper series.
