A suggestion that a scientific approach to modeling the research process might be based on the decision structure in the research work. The set of possible decisions that can be made by researchers as they do their work are few and invariant, and this stability can supply the basis for some degree of predictability. The Paper also suggests appropriate research to test the hypothesis. 3 pp.
