The world of program budgeting

A description of the major characteristics of a program budgeting system, i.e., structure, analysis, and information system. The structural aspect is concerned with establishing categories with meaning for a long-range planning point of view; the analytical process examines systematically alternative courses of action; and the information system supports the other two by supplying data by which to evaluate progress and data from which to estimate future alternative courses of action. Several examples are given.
