An extention of previous work on scalar transfer equations to the Rayleigh polarization equations in a homogeneous atmosphere. It is shown that Chandrasekhar's results for scattering and reflection functions are merely the specialization to the boundary of formulas that hold within an atmosphere. The linear transfer equation and associated linear integral equations are used to obtain a formulation of the solution of Rayleigh polarization scattering that is readily computed for all atmospheric thicknesses and at any depth in the atmosphere.
