Comparison of MHD Induction Generator Analyses.

A comparison of three different analyses of a common model of the flat-channel, linear magnethydrodymanic induction generator which appear in the current literature, and an explanation of an apparent discrepancy in the results of these analyses. It is pointed out that the first two approaches result in equivalent expressions for gross power output which correspond to operation of the generator in a constant current mode, whereas the third approach results in an expression for gross power output which corresponds to operation in a constant voltage mode, which is the usual mode of operation of machines in conventional power systems. 14 pp. Ref.
