Thinking about Future Social Development.
Prepared for presentation at the 80th Annual Meeting of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, this paper describes the future as a proper subject for management and direction, since what man does, dreams, thinks, and consciously and unconsciously remembers has constituted the past, accounts for the present, and will shape the future. Individual freedom can best be preserved by solving our large-scale social problems. Business and industry have a vital stake in the future and a challenging role to play "inventing" it. 18 pp.
