Expert InsightsPublished 1968

A general review of the Rand organization to introduce scholars to its research activities. At a recent national meeting of the Association of American Geographers, the author was often queried about Rand's place in the field of geography. This Paper is designed to answer such questions and to acquaint scholars with basic research at Rand that is unclassified and of potential value to them.

This publication is part of the RAND paper series. The paper series was a product of RAND from 1948 to 2003 that captured speeches, memorials, and derivative research, usually prepared on authors' own time and meant to be the scholarly or scientific contribution of individual authors to their professional fields. Papers were less formal than reports and did not require rigorous peer review.
