Expert InsightsPublished 1969

Description of a system for reporting contractor costs for major aerospace programs based on submittal of magnetic-tape data files instead of printed reports. Current paper-bound reporting systems are characterized as having several major problems. The nature of these problems and the manner in which they may be resolved by use of magnetic tape files are discussed, along with a summary of an experimental effort to develop procedures for processing contractor-generated data files. 14 pp.
