Reports on a workshop held at the 1975 Telecommunications Policy Research Conference, in Warrenton, Virginia, April 16-19, 1975. One of the major themes explored was the relationship between policy research and the regulatory process in telecommunications. All too often researchers bemoan the difficulties in bringing their work to the attention of regulatory commissioners and their staffs. For their part, regulators complain that research is rarely presented in ways that seem relevant to the issues under consideration. The paper summarizes the views of workshop participants on how policy search can be better coupled to regulatory decisionmaking. 7 pp.
This report is part of the RAND Corporation Paper series. The paper was a product of the RAND Corporation from 1948 to 2003 that captured speeches, memorials, and derivative research, usually prepared on authors' own time and meant to be the scholarly or scientific contribution of individual authors to their professional fields. Papers were less formal than reports and did not require rigorous peer review.
