Writers, editors, and computers

This paper, prepared for the Second Annual Meeting of the Society for Scholarly Publishing, provides a brief overview of the way some authors and editors are using RAND's on-line text editors to assist them in the publishing process. Two simplified views of RAND's computer systems are presented--one from the viewpoint of the writer/editor and the other from the perspective of the Publications Department.
