This paper comprises five short pieces written as an internal colloquy at RAND in the summer and fall of 1964 and reproduced as originally presented. The exchange of ideas it represents began as a response to some misinterpretations in crisis gaming and displays a spirit of uninhibited exchange among friends and colleagues. The paper is designed to make generally available observations and ideas about crisis gaming which continue to prove interesting to a new generation of gaming theorists.
This report is part of the RAND Corporation Paper series. The paper was a product of the RAND Corporation from 1948 to 2003 that captured speeches, memorials, and derivative research, usually prepared on authors' own time and meant to be the scholarly or scientific contribution of individual authors to their professional fields. Papers were less formal than reports and did not require rigorous peer review.
