ICAP: A Terminal-Zone Air Battle Simulation.

A description of a computer program simulation of an air battle engaged in by interceptors on combat air patrol (ICAP) and an attacking force attempting to overfly a specified, segmented path within a circle of less than 500 n mi radius. Blue's options include AWACS and three types of air-to-air missiles that can be carried at the same time, but no surface-to-air missiles, guns, ground-based battle control centers, or reinforcements during the battle. Red's penetration aids include decoys, ECM, and air-to-air missiles. The user has a high degree of control over the tactics used by Red and Blue and several options regarding printed output. The simulation should be useful for studying both tactical and strategic air warfare situations. 151 pp. Ref.
