Identification of Control Points on Mercury

Before photogrammetric triangulation to develop a control net of a planetary surface can take place, control points must be selected, designated, and marked on pictures of the surface. This report contains the identifications of 1,548 control points on Mercury. The locations of these points are shown on 37 photographs that cover the 45 percent of the surface of the planet viewed by the Mariner 10 spacecraft. (See also R-1914, R-2089, R-2090.)
