Atomic Energy Levels for the Thomas-Fermi and Thomas-Fermi-Dirac Potential
ResearchPublished 1954
A study to determine the Schroodinger equation for the Thomas-Fermi and Thomas-Fermi-Dirac potentials. Electron self-interactions are considered by modifying the potentials to give asymptotically the field of a unit charge, and all levels from 1s to 7d are examined for a range of Z-values sufficient to permit easy interpolation.
