A survey of the historical, political, and organizational factors contributing to the present configuration of the German labor movement and to the formation of the centralized German Labor Federation. In addition, this study describes the structure of the unions, their attitudes concerning public issues, their relations with the government, and, in particular, the views of labor leaders on current foreign policy problems.
